Pigeon Forge’s most popular attraction was created by Dolly Parton, a well-known American country singer and business woman. She opened her theme park attraction, Dollywood, in 1986, and has been a wonderful influence to the area in every way since. Her park brings over 3 million visitors to the area per year, which makes it one of the biggest authorities to put Pigeon Forge on the map.

The overwhelming amount of visitors to the national park alone has created tons of traffic for Pigeon Forge, as most travel through it in order to get to the park from the Tennessee side (it shares a border with North Carolina).

From Knoxville you travel east on I-40 and take exit 407 through Sevierville to Pigeon Forge. You will also find it by traveling from highway 19 in Asheville, North Carolina, which turns into highway 441, and takes you from North Carolina into Tennessee.
