Hello,

I need your help!

This is my first time vacationing in this area. We are staying at Sunrise Ridge resort (Gatlinburg) for one week in August. I will be traveling with my husband and two teenage boys (16 & 18).

Please advise me on things to do...I have a bad back, so whitewater rafting is out - but are there any canoing/tubing places? What are the easiest places to hike?

Anywhere fun to eat?

We plan to do Dollywood park and water park - any suggestions on that?

My boys are afraid that it is going to be "boring"...anything fun for them to do?

Thanks for your help!

Hi there. Rest assured your boys will not be bored!! There is something for everyone here. If you like seafood, Bubba Gump`s in gatlinburg is good. also. for scenery go to the Chimney`s to be on a mt. stream, and take along a picnic lunch. You must go to the top of the mt. There`s just too much to see and do, no way to list them all. Have fun. Faye

Best tubing is on the Little River in Townsend. They will provide the tubes and transport back and forth all day.

If you are looking for an easy hike, the Gatlinburg Trail from Sugarlands to Gatlinburg is an easy hike for something more strenuous I would tackle Abrams in Cades Cove (still an easy hike).

Fun to Eat: Dixie Stampede or Hoot & Holler are great dinner shows. Just food... Best Italian in Gatlinburg, Huck Finn's in Pigeon Forge (catfish place).

Dollywood has some great coasters and Splash Country is amazing your boys should have a great time at both places. They will not be bored at either place. You could also head over the mountains to Cherokee, NC. Great place for a visit.

Let me know if you have any questions.
