The best place to stay in Pigeonforge/Gatlinburg area is in the gorgeous cabins at Sherwood forest. Check out the Wilham vacation homes website at wilhamvacationhomes.com
I love it there. It is private and they have everything you need. It is only minutes to Gatlinburg. :)
I visit Gatlinburg every year and I always go through Wilham Vacations Homes. . They also have great places in Las Vegas....
