Are there any restaurants that will let you watch the 4th of July Parade (if you eat there, of course)? What's the best place to watch the parade in a secure area (meaning not on the street among the crowds)?

Lineberger's, Pancake Pantry or TGI Friday's would be the best bet I think. You will have to get to both of them early to get a seat by the window and just plan to camp out.

I know this may be a silly question but is the midnight parade on Friday the 3rd going onto the 4th or midnight the 4th going into the 5th? I am assuming Friday but just wanted to make for sure since we won't be heading down until Saturday morning.

The parade starts late on July 3rd (12 midnight) and continues early morning on the 4th.
