I love Pigeon Forge, I have been vacationing in Pigeon Forge since I was little, my husband and I were even married there 8 years ago, now I have my own family it's neat to take the kids and do the some of the same things I did when I was little. We have stayed at the Mountain Breeze Motel during most of our trips. It's clean and the rates are reasonable, and it's nice sitting on the balcony at night watching all the traffic go by. You can get some great deals online, and from coupon books, some even give you free nights if you stay so many days. We love all the pancake places for breakfast, you get a lot of food for a little price. Then have one big meal a day at a nice restaurant. Our favorite is The Old Mill, if you go there prices are cheaper during the week then on weekends, but even on weekends it's well worth it. $18.00 per person on weekends gets you fritters, corn chowder, side salad, all the green beans and mashed potatoes you can eat, your main dish (the chicken & dumplings are to die for) and choice of 3 different desserts. Real home cooking, if you leave that place hungry it's your own fault. The kids love the go karts, $30 + tax will get you a wristband at Nascar speedpark, where you can ride everything (except the one adult go carts and motion simulator) as many times as you want. There are several other go kart places that offer combo tickets which saves you $$, and some are buy 1 get 1 free before a certain time. We also love The Comedy Barn! It's great for the whole family. Kids get in for free. Purchase the souvenir key chain and you'll save $2.00 off future admissions (ours has already paid for itself) and they have a place in the front lobby where you can buy discount show tickets for some of the other shows in town. The Magic Beyond Belief show is another great show for kids. Kids get in free and you can clip a coupon for a free small popcorn saving yourself $2.75 per popcorn. The show is awesome and really keeps the kids attention. The best thing about Pigeon Forge is parking is FREE, that's right FREE parking! If you plan to travel into Gatlinburg make sure you make a day of it because parking can go as high as $10. The trolley is another alternative for only $0.50, it gives you a chance to check out the parkway and not worry about the traffic. You can find some really great buys at the factory outlets, something for everyone. Sometimes they have tax free days, so check with the malls ahead of time if your planning your trip for shopping. Make sure you grab some of them coupon books also, you can save a lot of money, and they are available everywhere, welcome center, hotels, restaurants, etc. You can also do the time share tours, it's not a gimmick, they really do give you your gifts. You can get free show tickets, or money. We did two on our last trip and got $200 and a $25 gift card for Hard Rock. They offer a kids room so they don't get bored listening to the presentation. There's so much to see and do in Pigeon Forge, my best tip though is "Just Have Fun!!"
