How do I enter?

Inside Pigeon Forge has launched a brand new forum for users to discuss anything about Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg or Sevierville while getting feedback from "insiders" who live & work in the area. We're so excited about the opportunity to provide visitors an "inside look" into our cities and we want to show our enthusiasm by giving away a vacation package to someone who shares the same enthusiasm about the town we love.

Step 1:
Register in the new Insider forums by clicking the link below
(if you're already registered, skip to Step 2)
http://www.insidepigeonforge.com/forums/register.php

Step 2:
Post a reply in this thread and tell everyone "Your Best Tip for Visiting Pigeon Forge." Be as creative and detailed as you want! It's your chance to share your favorite thing to do, place to stay, restaurant to eat at, waiter to ask for etc. Have fun with it! You can post as many tips as you want and each tip will count as an entry. The main requirement is that your tip is a reply to this thread rather than posted somewhere else in the forum. Only replies here will be counted as entries. If two posts are similar, we'll be accepting the first one or the one that is the most detailed/helpful...so it definitely pays to act fast and provide great tips!

The insiders will then choose one of the posts and award the author the Inside Pigeon Forge Getaway package. It really is that simple! There is nothing to buy, no lengthy sales pitches, etc. All that you have to do is share "Your Best Tip for Visiting Pigeon Forge" and you're entered into the giveaway!

We'll only be accepting entries until July 31, so hurry and beat the crowd!

Good luck and welcome to Inside Pigeon Forge!

Default Best Tip for Visiting Pigeon Forge

We are planning our first trip ever to Pigeon Forge so my tip is not from first hand experience. However, my suggestion is to check out all the websites such as Git2Know, Trip Advisor, My Pigeon Forge, etc. All the sites that have recommendations and advice from the people who either live there or have visited. The best help comes from the kind people on the different forums.

Wink Go to the Welcome Centers!

We have been visiting the Pigeon Forge area for years. The first thing I like to do when we arrive is go to the Welcome Center. You can get information on all the attractions and coupons for discounts. For my family every penny counts! We choose which attractions we will go to and which restaurants we will eat at by discounts offered. It really helps.

Great tip, Cheryl. I'd like to point out that there are two official welcome centers in Pigeon Forge, but the one that the city wants visitors to use is on the north end of town right in front of the Miracle Theater (Beside Country Legends Grill, Wonderworks, and Black Bear Jamboree). This is the nicest welcome center with a ton of info, coupons, tips, and friendly people wanting to help.

Smile Pigeon Forge- Our Mountain Getaway

Slip into some good walking shoes and comfortable clothes and always bring a light sweater, for evenings in Pigeon Forge are cool.
We like to visit the welcome center on the North end of town for all sorts of info. and they are super friendly and helpful. From there we choose where we will eat and if we will visit any shows.
Usually we find a room at mypigeonforge.com we like to stay in different places each time because they are all so nice, we want to try them all.
We like to go to the area parks for picnics. Once we had a picnic at Patriot Park and to our surprise they were having a celebration honoring our Vets we got to see the moving Mini Wall, it was awesome.
Our favorite place to eat is at the Golden Corral we have 2 children so there is something for everyone and it is resonable. We always get great service and leave feeling like we are apart of the town. Late at night after some swimming in the motel pool we go to Krispy Kreme and wait for the HOT sign this is our daughters favorite.
Dollywood is a must see but if you plan to get wet wear suitable shoes for water and then lots of walking.
There is so much to do in Pigeon Forge it really is best to spend some time on the web researching the many things to see and do and where to stay. You at least have an idea when you get there then you can scan the coupons at the welcome center to see what works for you.

We really enjoy going to the Pigeon Forge area We were married there 14 years ago and have been going up at least once a year ever since. One good tip for those who are going on over the weekend is to try not to travel on Friday afternoon/evening. If you do expect long traffic delays. If you are going there via I-40 E then get off the exit near Knoxville and go through Maryville and Townsend as this will save you a lot of grief and aggravation if travelling there for the weekend.
There are some other short cuts that you can find to bypass the traffic there. Check out the maps that they give you at the WElcome Center or available at most of the stores there. This will save you a lot of time and gas when driving around if you know how to get around behind the main drag

Default This is What We Do.....

We always go to Dollywood first thing. We have season passes, but if you don't, the best bet is to go after 3:00pm. The next day is free! You can spend the first evening looking around, maybe take in a show or two, and plan your next day's attack. It's a great deal.

After Dollywood, we spend a day a Splash Country (assuming it's still summertime). It's a super water park, and great way to cool off.

My wife love the outlet malls, and could LITERALLY shop till she dropped in Pigeon Forge.

The kids love the miniature golf and go-carts.

And we all love the shows! Dixie Stampede, Comedy Barn, Blackbear Jamboree, Country Tonight, The Black Brothers....it's all super!

We are coming back in a few weeks for 9 days and we can hardly wait!
