Five Guys Burgers and Fries

One of the best burgers to be found in the Smoky Mountains – Five Guys Burgers and Fries is located at Walden’s Landing in Pigeon Forge.

ZAGAT Survey Rated since 2001

One of the best burgers that you will have in the Smokies is from Five Guys Burgers and Fries.  They are a national chain but their burgers are so good that if you don’t have one in your home town… drop what you are doing and go eat there.  The burgers are in their name for a reason – the burgers are fantastic, of course.  Right next to the burgers on the menu, and in the hearts of their fanatics, are the fries – mounds of them.  On top of the great food they are also centrally located so you always have a chance to eat there while you are on vacation in the Smoky Mountains.

I like a juicy, big burger.  The burgers at Five Guys Burgers & Fries are the juiciest and some of the biggest you will find in the area.  The burgers are made from smaller patties, stacked on each other and steamed on a flat top so that they have great flavor and they are done all the way through.  The steaming keeps all the flavor and juice inside the burger.  Then they take the burger and put it on a fresh bun and cover it with whatever toppings you want.  Read through the list of toppings on the left.  Is there anything missing there?  I don’t think so either.  Get your burger ‘all the way‘ (with the most popular toppings) and you are going to find it difficult to get your mouth wide enough to eat the burger.  And you may want to bring a change of clothes in case you make a mess.

Now to share a story:  The first time that I went to Five Guys Burgers & Fries, I ordered a large fry for my wife and a large fry for myself.  The guy behind the counter said that I only needed one.  I took him at his word and decreased the size of the order to only one large fry, knowing that if we needed another I could just walk back up and order another one.  When I went to the counter to pick up my food, I was shocked and amazed, we did not need another fry.  They gave me a BAG of fries.  There was a large cup of fries in the bag but it was resting on top of a mound of fries that took up almost half of the bag.  The fries are fresh:  fresh cut and fresh cooked.  The moisture slowly creeps out of the bag and the smell from the inside of that bag is the most comforting of comfort food smells ever.  But do be cautious when you order fries or you will take some home to eat for the next month.

Five Guys Burgers & Fries is located in the Walden’s Landing area of Pigeon Forge.  Firehouse Golf, plenty of retail locations and a stadium seating theater is there, right in Walden’s Landing.  You can find that you spend the better part of an afternoon and evening right next to traffic light 3 in Pigeon Forge.  Five Guys faces the road so they are easy to find.  With their own parking lot and plenty of seating, come get in line, place your order and let the anticipation build as you smell the burgers cooking.  Eat some of the complimentary peanuts and wait for them to call your number.  When you get back to your table open the bag close to your face and let the steam from the bag wash over you.  You may never look at burgers the same way again.

Huck Finn’s Catfish

Huck Finn’s Catfish is one of Pigeon Forge’s most popular restaurants specializing in catfish as well as southern fried chicken – all-you-can-eat.

If you’re heading to Gatlinburg from Pigeon Forge don’t be surprised if you do a double-take to your right on the way there. That’s right, that was a huge catfish you saw. Around here, it’s Huck Finn’s Catfish restaurant’s calling card. But don’t just keep going, stop in and grab a bite to eat. This is one of the best restaurants in Pigeon Forge, no less the Smoky Mountains. Their menu consists of everything from catfish to country cooking you grew up on. Their service is second to none in the area and they feature live music almost every night. Huck Finn’s will have you coming back for more and bringing your friends with you.

Obviously, when you’ve got catfish in your name, you’re specialty is catfish. Or at least it better be. Whether you want it fried, golden-brown and served in fillets or whole fish, Huck Finn’s has mastered catfish cooking. They bring in the best catfish from farms in Mississippi. You won’t find any puny or under-prepared catfish here.

So you’re looking for something other than the usual? Place an order for fried chicken. It’s so crispy my mouth is watering just thinking about it. Can’t decide between the two? Try the catfish and the fried chicken. At Huck Finn’s Catfish, it’s all-you-can-eat so, they’ll keep serving it up if you keep asking for it. And be sure to at least take a glance at the menu, there are many more seafood choices that you might want to try next time.

Each meal comes with a family-sized portion of sides. You could fill up on the vittles alone, though I wouldn’t suggest it. The catfish and chicken are just too good. Tempting though, especially when your server brings out hushpuppies, cole slaw, white beans & ham, onion and pickles. This is also all-you-can-eat, so don’t worry about taking too much. Ask for as much as you like. In our opinion, you can’t ever have too many hushpuppies.

Huck Finn’s Catfish isn’t a Johnny-come-lately establishment, it’s become a Smoky Mountain destination over the years. Part of the reason they’ve been so successful for such a long time are their knowledgeable and hard-working servers. Huck Finn’s wait staff works really well together- most are from the area and truly enjoy their job. Not only is the food prepared quickly, but exactly to your order and drink refills are prompt as well as the all-you-can-eat sides, catfish, and chicken. On top of that, live music on the stage almost every night makes Huck Finn’s a pretty happening place even during the week. It’s easy to see why they’ve been around for so long.

Got a craving for some of the best seafood and country cooking in Pigeon Forge? Huck Finn’s is the answer. Looking for a great all-you-can-eat restaurant specializing in southern foods like catfish and fried chicken: stop by Huck Finn’s, you won’t be disappointed. Looking for live entertainment any day of the week to go along with a great staff? Check. Huck Finn’s has what you’re looking for. Whether you’re coming through Pigeon Forge on vacation, or just enjoying a night out on the town, make Huck Finn’s Catfish Restaurant a destination and enjoy their local culinary delights.

Smoky Mountain Brewery & Restaurant

The Smoky Mountain Brewery in Pigeon Forge, TN has the best burgers in Pigeon Forge TN as well as other great food and brew. It is definitely among the best places to eat in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee.

Smoky Mountain BreweryThe Smoky Mountain Brewery is located in the Walden’s Landing shopping center just past The Inn at Christmas Place on the north end of Pigeon Forge. If you’re a fan of sports, beer, burgers, or chicken fingers then this is your place. I love sports and I somehow manage to talk family or friends into going her for lunch on Saturdays in the fall since they have about 20 televisions with just about every game and/or sport on! Ladies, you might not want to take your man here if you “need to talk”.

This place has become locally known for “half price burgers” on Wednesday. I may have just killed it by making that little-known fact public, but their burgers are simply among the best in Pigeon Forge. The fries are just as tasty too! If you’re on a diet and have a “cheat day” then this is a great way to spend it. They also have a good selection of fresh, home-brewed beer (since it’s a brewery and all). If you’re in the mood for some ole hops and barley, they have various brews to choose from light to dark…whatever your taste, they’re sure to have something to whet your whistle…they also have great sweet tea if beer isn’t your thing.

If you’re in the mood for a little Italian cuisine during your trip to Pigeon Forge, there’s good news! Johnny Carino’s Italian Grill is located on the north end of Pigeon Forge.

Carino’s Italian is known for their “country Italian” cuisine. Instead of white, fancy tablecloths, you’ll find wooden tables. People aren’t going to wear ties and you don’t have to worry about which fork to use. This way, Carino’s is a great fit for anyone! The dress is casual, so you don’t have to worry about dressing up!

Italian Cuisine

First up is the bread! When the waiter or waitress starts to pour the oil & herbs for dipping, you’re going to fall in love with the first course!

As for the meal, they are amazing portion sizes! You should definitely go when you’re really hungry, so you can enjoy your entire plate! Or, of course, you can always take your leftovers with you! Plus, the entrees are reasonably priced, especially for the portion sizes.

If you need your Italian fix while visiting Pigeon Forge, TN then we highly suggest Johnny Carino’s. It’s arguably the best option of Italian restaurants in Pigeon Forge.

Alamo Steakhouse

The Alamo Steakhouse is one of many places to eat in Pigeon Forge Tennessee. The Pigeon Forge Insider shares a review and tips about the food and prices as well as how to save money with discounts and coupons.

Alamo Steakhouse in Pigeon ForgeWhat They Say:

The greatest restaurant in the Smoky Mountains of Tennessee. Serving appetizers, soups, sandwiches, prime Black Angus steaks, chicken , chops, seafood and more with a special Children’s Menu all in The Great Smoky Mountains in Pigeon Forge & Gatlinburg, TN.

The Alamo Steakhouse Restaurant in the Smokies is the perfect dinner setting, for anything from an intimate dinner for two to a big family dinner, including private seating to accommodate reunions, wedding parties, anniversary celebrations and more. Our restaurant booths are tucked away to assure privacy, and our dining areas provide ample room for all to enjoy. The atmosphere is perfect for all ages and our large dining room is suitable for groups up to 50.

What the Insider Says:

The Alamo Steakhouse in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee claims to be “The greatest restaurant in the Smoky Mountains of Tennessee,” but I have to disagree. It’s good and the atmosphere is a neat southwestern setting, but the prices outweigh the quality of the food. They serve steak, chicken, seafood, salads, and even some great-tasting hamburgers. It’s among one of the better places to eat in Pigeon Forge, TN… just be sure you’re ready to fork over around $18 for a salad, entree, and one side at dinner.

Insider Tips:

  • Go at lunchtime. The entrees cost about half as much and you still get a decent portion.
  • Go steak or burger. The steaks and burgers don’t get much better than this in town.
  • Check out their most recent coupons.

All in all the food is great. I wouldn’t spend their dinner prices on any of it, but I would definitely suggest the Alamo Steakhouse for lunch.
