Dollywood Festival of NationsIf you haven’t yet visited Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, the Festival of Nations is an excellent time to do it. Held between Mar. 28 - April 27, 2009, this month long international event showcases performers from around the world, as well as highlighting many different cultures. The Festival of Nations at Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, TN is a captivating sight, featuring some of the world’s best entertainment, plus art, dancing, music and food.

2009’s Festival at Dollywood features Le Grand Cirque and the show Imaginé. This spell binding show is more than just your average circus. You’ll see clowns, jugglers, acrobats, aerialists and high wire artists in fantastic costumes. This show offers incredible music and amazing feats - you’ll be glad you chose to come.

Of course, Le Grand Cirque isn’t the only show you’ll see at Dollywood during the Festival of Nations. The Czech Pilsen Brass Band is a talented Czech Republic youth ensemble, displaying the rich musical tradition of their home. They show incredible skill in their performances, and add modern favorites as well. The band will be performing at Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee between March 28 and April 13, 2009.

The Jennifer Roland Band from Cape Breton, Nova Scotia will entertain audiences with traditional and original fiddle compositions, as well as step dancing and other acts. Keona, a unique act from Switzerland, will demonstrate the hang drum, producing fascinating rhythms on a number of different drums.

Atahualpa, from Ecuador, offers South American traditional songs and dance rhythms. They play both native instruments and modern keyboards and guitars, resulting in a fascinating blend of cultures. Calpulli Danza Mexicana puts on a vibrant show of music and dance, featuring ceremonial dances and rich costumes from Mexico.

Dollywood Festival of Nations in Pigeon ForgeDainava is a folk music group from Southern Lituhania, incorporating unique traditional instruments as well as horns, pan pipes, accordion, clarinet and more into a fascinating presentation. Many of their songs are traditional and are still performed today in the villages of Lithuania.

The Royal Stilwalkers of Merchtem, Belgium, offer something different - a show filled with music and dance, performed on stilts! Some of these performers are standing on stilts as much as twelve feet tall. You’ll have to see it to believe it.

The Zambian Vocal Group brings different tribes together, forming one sound and creating a unified performance. They perform a capella, with no instruments, singing traditional hymns as well as original pieces. You’ll hear traditional African rhythms, complex harmonies, and unique vocal percussion, too.

If you’ve never been to Dollywood, this is the time to attend. You’ll see all the usual attractions, plus the wonderful performances and sights of the Festival of Nations.
