2012 Incredible Christmas Place Events

Listing of various Christmas Place events for 2012.

As it gets later in the year, the Smokies not only become a destination for nature-lovers and those of us looking to get in that last getaway before the holidays, it also tends to transform into a shopping mecca. And while most of that is due in large part to places like Tanger Five Oaks Mall, other more regional spots enjoy quite the seasonal traffic. Nowhere is that more apparent than the Incredible Christmas Place.

Just like its name, you can find just about anything having to with the Christmas season at the Christmas Place. And the closer you get to the month of December, the more crowded it gets. From ornaments, to Christmas trees, various holiday statues, cloth, you name name, if it’s related to Christmas they’ve got or they now where to find it. Another draw are their annual events and signings. all year long the Incredible Christmas Place plays host to a slew of events and various signings at the store, such as entertainment events including crafts, sidewalk sales, kid-related activities, and how-to’s like wreath-making.

Below is a list of remaining events for 2012 fall and winter season:

October
October 20, 11 am – 4 pm – Egyptian Glass Signing
Linda Paul will be at the Christmas Place signing her extraordinary glass art. Some of her most sought after include German glass & paints and a variety of one-of-a-kind glass ornaments, vases, and decorative pieces. Call the Christmas Place, order your piece, and have it held until the event.

October 20-21, 10 am – 4 pm – R.J. McDonald Signing
R.J. McDonald who specializes in Santa paintings and prints will be in store. Meet R.J. get him to sign your own personalized piece of holiday art. As always, if you go ahead and place an order now, we’ll hold until the event.

October 27, TBD – Ne’Qwa Signing with Trieste
Ne’Qwa artist Trieste will be making an appearance at the Incredible Christmas place signing her works.Guests can also view the fine art of painting on the inside of glass ornaments.

November
November 3, 12:30 – 3 pm – Department 56 Artist Signing
Scott Enter, a village designer will be signing holiday pieces.

November 3-4, 9 am – 5 pm – Department 56 Secondary Market
This big event allows artists to sell retired items from their own personal collections. There will also be a signing event on Saturday, Nov. 3rd as well. To reserve a sale table, contact Teresa Hughes at 1-800-445-3396, ext. 148 for details.

November 15, 2 – 4 pm – Fontanini Nativities Signing with Stefano Fontanini
Stefano Fontanini, one of the founding members of Fontanini will be signing pieces in store. Fontanini nativities are extremely sought after for their lifelike appeal and attention to detail. The Christmas Place has nativity sets, both figures & structures, available in all sizes. So place your order now and we’ll hold it until the event for you at no charge.

November 17, Noon – 2 pm – Christopher Radko Signing with Mario Tare
If glass ornaments are your thing then you won’t want to miss an appearance by Christopher Radko in mid-November. There is also an exclusive ornament available just for this signing, Worth the Wait, Santa waiting to hear the Christmas wishes of the next child.

November 17-18, 10 am – 4 pm – R.J. McDonald Signing
Tennessee artist R.J. McDonald will be signing pieces of his collection of beautiful Santa paintings and prints in store. Have some of R.J.’s artwork personalized just for you, a family member, or anyone special. As always, if you go ahead and place your order now,we’ll hold your piece until the event at no charge.

December 8, 11 am – 4 pm – JingleNog Signing
Melissa Byrne, designer of mouth-blown and hand-painted European glass ornaments, headlines this signing event. Find that perfect Christmas ornament – colorful, classical and intricately detailed, for anyone on your list.

December 15-16, 10 am – 4 pm – R.J. McDonald Signing
R.J. McDonald will be at the store signing his beautiful Santa paintings and prints. Get R.J. to sign a piece of his wonderful artwork and treasure it for years to come. The perfect gift for any friend, family member, or just the person that really enjoys the holidays.

Ten Thousand Villages Coming to Pigeon Forge

Ten Thousand Villages, a fair trade retailer, opens August 6 in Pigeon Forge.

According to knoxnews.com blog “The Bottom Line,” fair trade retailer Ten Thousand Villages is set to open a new location in Pigeon Forge in the coming weeks.

The Ten Thousand Villages store, to be located in Belz Outlets at 2654 Teaster Lane, will open officially on August 6.

The news comes just months after Knoxville’s Ten Thousand Villages store closed its doors on Market Square.

The store sells a variety of handmade jewelry, home decor, art and other items from artists based out of Asia, Africa, Latin America and the Middle East.

“This is a great opportunity to expand the mission of Ten Thousand Villages,” Craig Schloneger, Ten Thousand Villages U.S. CEO, said in a release. “We look forward to working with Belz Outlets to spread the mission of fair trade throughout East Tennessee.”

Customers that stop in during the store’s grand opening celebration will receive a free handmade paper mini-journal while supplies last.

Everyone who joins the store’s mailing or email list will be entered in a drawing to win a $50 gift card.
