  1. We stayed at The Inn at Christmas Place in March and I can understand why it is rated #1. It is wonderful. We had a good time with the grandchildren swimming in the indoor pool.

  2. We haven’t stayed at any of these hotels, but we have stayed at many hotels in Pigeon Forge. Our personal favorite is the Park Grove Inn on Community Center Drive. It has a great location, reasonable rates, is 100% smoke free and is very nice. The staff make you feel like you are at home and it’s just off the beaten path enough to be quiet, but close enough to the action.

  3. Each year at Christmas time, we have a family tradition of coming to Pigeon Forge and spending a few days together. Each year I am responsible for making reservations. I always reserve at Comfort Inn, Apple Valley. It is a wonderful place to stay. It is immaculately clean, good location, resonably priced, and the staff makes you feel as if your were at your own “family home.” The hotel is beautiful and the staff is so helpful. I love it and will return again and again.

  4. We have stayed at various motels and hotels when we visit Pigeon Forge. We liked The Grand Hotel with the inside pool. We like to stay where they have inside pools especially when we bring our granddaughter. We just love Pigeon Forge. If I could, I will live there.

  5. My family stayed at the James Manor last weekend and we had a fantasic stay! The rooms were clean, the beds were comfortable, and the front desk staff was a dream. I absolutly enjoyed talking with Tana, she is a sweetheart. I would encourage anyone visiting the Pigeon Forge area to stay at the James Manor.

  6. My Husband and I have been staying in the Park Tower Inn on vacations for the past 5 years. It is our only choice for a motel! The only time we didn’t get to stay was when they were at capacity. We always are greeted by a warm and friendly staff, clean rooms and though many families have children, you never hear them. It is always very quite. We always reccommend to new visitors and they in turn always return to Park Tower. Stay! Enjoy! You will come back! Laura Dulin Charlotte NC

  7. There are many great hotels in Pigeon Forge. Which one you choose will depend on what matters most to you. Do you want the cheapest, closest to Dollywood, most amenitites, on the water? Shop around and find what exactly what you want.

  8. family inns arent very nice or clean. we stayed there during the april rod run,the staff in the office isnt very friendlyor nice we will never stay there again.first and last time. i would not recomend these motels as they may be all alike.wilma cole

  9. Thank you for informing us of the change of ownership of James Manor… WE have always stayed there because of the staff and being family owned. It was always so clean. It is sad to see that Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge are selling hotels to Patel’s. When i travel, i am not prejudice , but i have had too many nightmares staying just one time at an india owned hotel… sheets had not been changed, and floors were filthy, and you could tell the bathtubs had not been cleaned and not from just from overnight, over a period of time and there was actually urine still on the commode…..Some of them are getting American staff to work the front desk, so we won’t know they are not American owned, so when you call ask if it is,,, that is what i always do now…… why does the health inspectors in the US not take more notice of their hotels……besides they come here tax free for five yrs. and then they can pass it on to another family member, and so on,,, and let a US citizen try that, and we get imprisoned for it!!!!!!!!!!! Oh yes we are a free country….if your born in another country and come here to live…..first thing they should be given when they come here is military uniform, send them to fight for us in Iraq and if they come back alive, then they can become us citizen…..

  10. WE ALWAYS STAY AT THE RIVER LODGE SOUTH ON THE RIVER. IT’S NOT FANCY, BUT IT’S ALWAYS REASONABLY PRICED AND CLEAN. WE LOVE STAYING THERE, BECAUSE THERE ARE ALWAYS ALOT OF DUCKS AND GEESE TO FEED AND BEING BY THE RIVER IS VERY RELAXING!! I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS MOTEL TO ANYONE!!

  11. I am appauled that you would post such a racist letter as the one from “Katharine-Jul.22,2008 1:55am. I have stayed at quite a few hotels owned by the Patel’s in 2 states and have NEVER had a bad experience. In fact, my family comes to Pigeon Forge at least 3-4 times a year and we always stay at the La Quinta because of the management. I feel this posting was in very poor taste and shame on you for printing it on this site.

  12. We stayed at Hotel Pigeon Forge just recently and it is under new ownership. We had a very nice experience and could see that it is well underway to being a top hotel. They have really done a nice improvement and the staff is all new and were very accomodating to our needs (it was like we were special guests) I will stay here again.

  13. My family visits the Smokies quite often, and one place we keep returning to time and again is the Norma Dan. It is family owned, clean, afforadable with indoor and outdoor pools. We have never had a bad experience there and I always encourage my friends and family when traveling to Pigeon Forge to always call Norma Dan first. They are located right on the Parkway across from Dixie Stampede. Try it out sometime you will not be disappointed.

  14. Wilderness Resort was the worst hotel we have ever stayed. The service was horrible, the workers (according to them) are overstressed and not paid enough to do anything. We stayed the last few days in December to help supervise our church group at a “Strength to Stand” conference held there. Check in time was 2:oo but by 5:30 most of the kids hadn’t even been checked in and the first conference started at 6:00. The next morning, we had NO hot water for everyone who needed baths and apparently that has been an ongoing problem. That night my teen came to my room (I paid full price for my room) to take a bath and blow dry her hair. I decided to use the attached dryer that was on the wall. The dryer blew up in my hand, burned me and shocked the devil out of me. We called room service and they finally sent a utility man who promptly acted like I was lying (until an older man showed up and smelled the smoke and saw my hand) They didn’t ask if I was okay nor did they care. I had to ask to have an accident report filled out. It has taken 8 weeks for the feeling to return to parts of my hand. My husband went and found ice for me to help stop the burning. My husband is a contractor and he told them that something was wrong with the breaker because it didn’t throw when it shocked me. What did they do? They simple unpluged the burned out blowdryer and replaced it with another one! How stupid….No one from the hotel even asked if I was okay or anything else. When we checked out they tried to over charge us! I could go on and on but I think you probably get the picture…..

  15. We have been going to Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg area for YEARS!! We have stayed at several hotels as well as chalets. The one we tend to keep going back to is the Park Tower Inn, it has a great location, wonderful staff, clean and nice pools for the kids. I have also stayed at the Edgewater in Gatlinburg also great place, I would stay there again as well as The Inn of the South in Sevierville, beautiful places to stay, very memoriable.
Multiple other hotels visited 99.9% good experiences.

  16. I have taken my daughter and 3 year old grand-daughter to Pigeon Forge 2 times in the last 4 months. We can not say enough good things about THE INN AT CHRISTMAS PLACE. PERFECT in every way. Service, rooms, clean, breakfast, pool, staff… need I say more?
    Robin Woods

  17. We stayed at the Resort at the Governor’s Crossing and absolutely loved it. It has an indoor water park. It is close to the Tanger Outlet Mall, Nascar Speed Park, Fuddruckers, Applebee’s, and Wal-mart. This place is definitely southern hospitality. These condos were fantastic and the staff were very polite. We couldn’t have found a much better place to stay. We loved it there and plan to go back soon. The prices were very reasonable too.

  18. Shular Inn is by far the best place to stay. Great rooms, great breakfast, two nice pools (indoor & outside). I use to stay at a different place each time I visited but I now stay here pretty much 90% of the time. If not here the Super 8 on Emert st. is good.

  19. grand hotel was anything but!rooms look rundown.basic cleaning on premises has been neglected such as windows, mirrors in elevators, glass from elevators to front desk, carpets. outdated mobile home ugly bathroom fixtures, peeling wall borders. this facility is way too overpriced for the shabby, old rooms. definitely in a time warp and needs renovation so the price will reflect the rooms value afterward.

  20. We’ve stayed at the Econolodge Riverside the last 4 times we were in Pigeon Forge. The kids enjoyed the ducks out back on the river and the indoor pool. Rooms were very clean and everyone has always been so nice.

  21. We have been staying at the Best Western Plaza for at least 8 times ..You cant beat the prices the rates on Sunday thur Friday are great!! Going again soon for Fall !! Love It!!Great Breakfast Free very nice Kitchen and service!!!

  22. Have to say I’m very disappointed – not 1 of your top 10 is pet friendly. As someone who is planning their 1st trip to your area, I don’t find this welcoming or encouraging.

  23. We have been vacationing in PF for many years. Time after time, we look at other hotels, check the prices, but always end up at EconoLodge Riverside. Yes, we miss the “come feed our ducks” sign, but have NEVER had a bad experience here. Will continue to visit until a bad experience. Thanks EL-RIverside

  24. I am looking for a good place to stay and we consider these reviews however i think 10KatharineJul 22nd, 2008 at 1:55 am who left a review above says she is not predudice but i could not tell if she was leaving a review or complaining about immigrants. We are all GOD’s children and share the same planet just live your life and be thankful you dont have to go through some of the stuff others do to be able to live in a country that is so great. Please continue to show others what a great, NICE country we have.

  25. My wife & I have been coming to Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg on vacations for over 30 yrs now and for the last 10 yrs or so we have found the Park Grove Inn on Community Center Drive in Pigeon Forge to be one of our favorite places to stay. Great Staff, location, nice lobby, indoor/outdoor pools, wireless internet and best of all their rooms/beds/bathrooms have always been nice & clean. If these things are important to you then I’d highly recommend the Park Grove Inn.

  26. my husband and I have been coming to pigeon forge for years. It is very close to where we live so we visit frequently. We love staying at music road inn and music road hotel. The staff is friendly and the grounds and the interior are well kept and clean. We have never had any problems with either resort great place to stay!!!

  27. well i just wanted to say we just returned from PF and we stayed at the EconoLodge- Riverside. It was a wonderful experience and feeding the ducks is something that i nor my friends will ever forget. I loved it. The location as well as the service and the rooms were all great. Needless to say we really enjoyed our stay. :)

  28. one quick question. what is the name of the hotel with the huge waterslide? lol

  29. I visit Pigeon Forge about every 2 months and have for many years; I’ve stayed at many of the hotels and granted the Christmas Place Inn is the best hotel but on the pricey side for a family trying to economize. I have found that the best accommodation for the price for a family is Whispering Pines Condos; they offer 1,2,3 and 4 bedroom condos..very spacious, also offers full kitchen and washer and dryer…very clean and staff is very accommodating…they have sister locations at Bear Crossing and Cedar Lodge…all three locations are midtown Pigeon Forge…check out their websites! think you will be pleasantly surprised.

  30. My husband and I and some friends stayed at the Family Inns & Suites a few weeks ago and I would not recommend this place to anyone. We reserved a 2 bedroom. 2 bath suite for 4 days. We didn’t get what we paid for and the place was a wreck. We got 2 bedrooms with one bath. We stayed for 4 days and not once did they bring towels or linens. We had to go to desk to get towels which they said they didnt have. We stayed the 4 days because they wouldnt refund our money or give us a discount then we moved to Riverside Towers which was a very nice motel.

  31. Could someone please tell me a hotel in Pigeon Forge or Gatlingburg that has smoking rooms? This is getting to be ridiculous.

  32. My family and I spent the weekend at the Wilderness Resort. It was AWESOME!! We had a wonderful time. The rooms where great, staff was very friendly, and I am looking forward to going back very soon.

  33. j we are staying at the Valley Forge inn, and reserved a smoking room.
I have never stayed there before, but most of their reviews are positive reviews. It is a no pet hotel as well, which I like because when I stayed at the motel 6 a barking dog kept me up for 2 straight nights.
Personally I feel that every hotel should have so many rooms as smoking rooms. Reason why I say this is you will have smokers who will smoke in the non smoking rooms, even though they are not suppose to. I personally would never do that, but people do. Atleast this way non smokers or those with smoke allergies won’t have to worry about getting a non smoking room that has been smoked in.
A little info about the Patels. Of course it is a common Indian name like Smith is to us here. My husband owned a security company at one time, and a few of his accounts were at hotels owned by Patels. They are notorious for not keeping the hotels up as well as others. They also switch ownership over every 5 yrs to another family member, so they can get the free 5 yrs tax free status. This isn’t a prejudice. These are just facts here. I have noticed a lot of complaints on travel advisor of hotels that were once very well cared for, that have gone downhill since being bought out by a Patel.

  34. Very upset, stayed at the Grand Hotel for the 2010 Rod Run very dirty, rude people no parking place for us we had to park a mile up the street and waited 1 hour for a shuttle that never showed so we walked back room. Towels were torn Could not check in till 2:00 pm but was charged for 2 full days, Paid for a nice hotel, but received a hotel that i would have expected to pay 49.99 for. I would not rate this hotel to any web site or recommend to anyone, it is gimmick, the room had a mildew odor, beds were hard, shower head was coming loose from wall, the shampoo, lotion was in little packs that were not even enough to was your body,, List goes on and on. I HATED this hotel and i have go to Pigeon Forge at least 2 or 3 times per year. Look around before you stay here

  35. My kids love the Holiday Inn Pigeon Forge. As a Priority Club member (free), you get points towards free nights and late checkout upon request. The big draw for us is the indoor pool with a waterfall. The nice lodge-type lobby is also very pleasant. There is an arcade, too, though the games are a little dated. The staff has always been friendly and helpful. I’ve stayed there 3 times. I’d like to try the other ones listed, but being able to earn points towards free nights in my other travels really appeals to me. Great hotel!

  36. We recently stayed at the GRAND RESORT HOTEL in PF IT was horrible the rooms were so outdated it was like stepping into the 70’s again the door was about to fall off the hinges in the room everynite i would put the table and all of our luggage on top in front of the door afraid someone would come in on us. NOBODY stayed there I knew there was a problem when we arrived and no cars in the parking lot the staff looked horrible like they had slept in their clothes before coming to work I ask to see if one of the Suites they have just out of curosity and the guy had the nerve to tell me they were all booked and occupied please there was 4 cars in the parking lot. The pool was horrible i would not put my big toe in it It looks totally different than the pictures on the internet I even complained to management on the internet never got a reply WE WILL NEVER STAY THERE AGAIN
The stairs , we were on the second floor, the doors were barely hanging on written all over, and one nite we came back from a show part of the building had fell off onto a car parked in the parking lot PLEASEEEE ruined our vacation I hated that room but would not give me back my money

  37. We have been coming to pigeon forge for 15 years, and always have a very pleasent stay at the Park Tower Inn. However the Park Grove Inn is a very unpleasent place to stay. The hotel is not american owned and the front desk not very friendly. You can also smell the city sewer thats across the road.

  38. We have stayed at many great hotels in the Smoky Mountain Area but prefer the Shular Inn in Pigeon Forge. They have a 24 hour indoor pool and hot tub that is ALWAYS clean – you can smell the chlorine!! The rates are always VERY reasonable – much cheaper to stay here and drive on into Gatlinburg. Additionally, they have hot items on their breakfast bar, queen sized beds instead of full, microfridges in all rooms, and the service from the staff is awesome. No – not a 5-star hotel with the fancy frills – but very clean and great for a family – additionally within walking distance to many parkway activities.

  39. The only real problem we have experienced in Pigeon Forge was at the Grand Hotel with the indoor jacuzzi – our entire family broke out in some sort of rash after using that indoor spa – the room wasn’t very clean as the floors had not been vacuumed and we had to have them move us then vacuum the second room they moved s to – in the night, we found bugs in the bed as well…NEVER again. My husband had had great success here back in its heyday – but it is somewhat run down and we will just drive on by in the future!!

  40. Would love to stay in a cabin in Pigeon Forge. But I want one that is close to everything… not way back on a mountain! Anyone have suggestions?

  41. Try Sherwood Forrest Resort – just outside Pigeon Forge’s Parkway.

  42. yes to me best western plaza inn it is a good plaece to stay and they friendly to and the staff is nice to so if you want a good place to stay go to best western
    thank you
    jeanlowe 06/20/2011
    time 8:00 pm

  43. maples motor inn .prices are great as well as american own.by a christan couple.nothing fancy but clean an great service.

  44. MainStay Suites, last time we stayed there may 07′ it was extremely nice. Good Service, Room cleaned, Great Breakfast, and even had church services outside on Sunday morning. Creek by the hotel and plenty of parking. It is off the main strip which i liked. coming back in 2 wks cant wait.

  45. Many hotels to choose from in Pigeon Forge. From my experience, if you find a cheap hotel and think you are getting a bargin, you’re not. Don’t expect the Ritz Calton if you’re paying $75 or below for a room. Usually dirty uncleaned bathrooms, only the sheets and not the Bedcover(Quilt)washed, roach infested or who knows what else in the room. Always check motel reviews before going, if they have bad reviews, that’s a red flag. Don’t stay there.

  46. The Riverstone Resort and Spa on Dollywood lane is Fabulous!! We have stayed twice and will continue to make them our first choice. They are upscale condo’s that are fully equipped. They offer pet friendly units. I think they offer smoking units also. They have an indoor pool that stays open later than most{2am} which is wonderful for us,because we like to swim late nt after our long days out on the town. Our children love it, as well as the lazy river outside with beautiful waterfalls. The staff is wonderful!!They are friendly and accomodating!! We needed an extra blanket for the kids on our Memorial day weekend stay, and the front desk clerk walked all the way down to storage himself, late that nt to get them one. They go above and beyond to make us feel at home, and we certainly do on our visits! There are many ammenities offered, check out their website! This resort is a jewel in a quiet, peaceful spot overlooking a golfcourse or river. They are worth every penny!! We are already excited for our return trip this fall for gospelfest!!!

  47. Love pf. been four times this year. we liked the smoky shadows tower suites. they are nice and clean and are pet friendly

  48. We stay at the Quality Inn at Dollywood Drive. It is fantastic. Clean. Friendly. And staff is wonderful so is the breakfast.

  49. Always stay at the Valley Forge Inn! Very clean and all the extras you could as for(fire place, jacuzzi, indoor and outdoor pool)and lots more!

  50. Can you recommend a decent hotel that allows us to see the rods on the street from our room (preferrably balcony?)? We love to watch them cruise each night. I just cannot remember any of the possible hotels to check out for this year. Any help is greatly appreciated!

  51. We stayed at the Colonial House Motel this past March and it was great!!!! We got a King Suit, which had a jacuzzi
tub in the room. The room was spotless, the staff was extremely nice, the indoor pool was nice and well taken care of (there is also a very nice outdoor pool with a slide, but because of the time of year was closed when we went) & prices were great!! I definitely reccomend The Colonial House Motel to everyone!! We will definitely be staying there again when we go back in September if things are still the same!

  52. we stayed at encono lodge down town on the park way it was the worst time of our lives I drove all night to get there and I won’t tell what I found in the bes and on the walls in the bath room and it took me two weeks after I got home to get my money back had to go throught the Gov
