4th of July in Pigeon Forge


If you plan on being in Pigeon Forge, TN for the 4th of July weekend, then here are some FREE things happening in town that you’ll probably want to check out. The 18th Annual Patriot Festival will be going on from July 4-6. This will include free concerts and fireworks for the entire family to enjoy. Here’s what to do:

Friday, July 4th:
The action starts at Patriot Park at 1 p.m. with StarJam 2008 which is provided by Star 102.1 in Knoxville and the City of Pigeon Forge with free admission into the event. This event is at Patriot Park in the middle of Pigeon Forge…behind the Old Mill. There will be tons of free activities for kids starting at 1:00 pm, which will be dubbed “Kid’s Karnival”. There will also be free concerts featuring Ace Young (from American Idol), Metro Station, Good Charlotte, and Boys Like Girls. Food vendors will also be at the event to give you and your family a chance to refuel and enjoy the entire day (the food is one of the only thing at the event that isn’t free). You could also leave the event (since it’s free) and head to one of the best restaurants in Pigeon Forge.

The festivities conclude at 9:30 pm with an awesome fireworks display that never disappoints. This thing gets bigger and better every year! Be sure to have a radio handy and tuned to Star 102.1 fm as the Pigeon Forge fireworks will be synchronized to a soundtrack. The location of the fireworks in Pigeon Forge has moved over the years from Patriot Park to an area behind “fast food strip” where McDonald’s, Wendy’s, Arby’s, etc are. Stay tuned for the exact location so that you can get the best possible viewpoint for your family. Also, if you’ll be in Gatlinburg, TN on July 3rd, you might want to see the 4th of July midnight parade in Gatlinburg., which begins at midnight on July 3rd and is considered the first 4th of July parade in the world.


Saturday, July 5th:
The festivities continue at The Old Mill Square all day on Saturday. There will be “Tennessee Traditions Demonstrations” and then a performance at 6:00 pm by the Carolina Bluegrass Boys.

Sunday, July 6th:
The last day of festivities includes performances at the Smoky Mountain Jubilee Theater starting at 4:00 pm with “Family Community Christian Day” and choral concerts. Admission will be free, so bring the family and enjoy free, family-friendly entertainment!

The 4th of July weekend festivities conclude on Sunday, July 6th at The Miracle Theater with the Lee University’s Lee Singers at 7:30 pm. For “Voices of Lee” tickets call 1-800-768-1170.

  1. Your information says you will give the exact location of the fireworks. Has that been decided yet??

  2. Due to the safety of the numerous visitors, the exact location of where they will be shooting from is not disclosed. However, Patriot Park and the surrounding area remains the best vantage point as this is where the festivities take place. You’ll be guaranteed a great view from Patriot Park.

  3. When will the groups performing be announced for the concert. Last year was our first year and it was awesome and we are planning to come again this year, but I already have teenagers planning the event and are dying to know who’s going to be there. The lineup last year was awesome. Thanks in advance.
